The Wunsiedel district can be happy: a warm holiday week is just around the corner, and several seaside resorts are opening their doors to summer vacationers. Bathing is twice as much fun! Frankenpost reports that outdoor pools and natural ponds are ready to offer water lovers big and small a welcome way to cool off.
The Nagler See, the Weißenstädter See and the Petzelweiher are particularly popular. These waters are available all year round and offer natural alternatives to the local outdoor pools. With a bit of luck, you can witness the unique natural spectacle up close!
The Wunsiedel outdoor pool: news for the summer season
The outdoor pool in Wunsiedel opened on May 23, 2025 and welcomes its guests daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The season is expected to continue until mid-September, with opening depending on the weather. SWW Wunsiedel has optimized the filling of the swimming pool with water from the Dengler spring, which is heated to a pleasant 20 °C.
Another highlight in the outdoor pool is the newly designed children's paddling pool, which is around 5 degrees warmer thanks to a solar system, making it even more fun for little fun birds! There is also a brand new play ship available for the little adventurers, which was financed by the association for the support of the outdoor and indoor swimming pool and SWW Wunsiedel GmbH.
Offers and experiences for the whole family
The spacious lawn with shady places to relax invites you to linger. Sports enthusiasts can let off steam on the beach volleyball court, while visitors to the beer garden can enjoy fresh food and drinks - admission is of course free.
Ladies can relax in the outdoor pool sauna on Thursdays, while it's the men's turn on Fridays. On Saturdays the sauna is open to everyone. There are also free parking spaces and easy access by bus, as well as a new parking area for e-scooters directly in front of the outdoor pool entrance.
