School cycling 2025: 1771 participants cycled over 208,000 kilometers!

In the district of Weilheim-Schongau, schools can proudly look back on their achievements at this year's school cycling. With a total of 1,771 participants from students: Inside and teachers: Inside, the cyclists covered the impressive route of 208,293 kilometers in 21 days. This is an increase of more than 80,000 kilometers compared to the previous years, such as wilheim-schongau.de. The number of participants has almost doubled, which shows that the project is becoming increasingly popular.

The award ceremony on July 11, 2025 was a very special event in which district administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß presented certificates and prizes. New this year was the special prize for the Pähl primary school, which was awarded for its high commitment. The aim of the competition is clearly clear: to determine the most bicycle -active school and motivate the students to use the bike as an environmentally friendly means of transportation in everyday life.

A total of 21 schools took part in the competition, and CO2 avoidance through the unlocked kilometers is over 34 tons. The following schools were awarded for their excellent performance:

The competition, which has been taking place annually since 2015, was launched by the climate alliance and has now established itself in eight federal states. It is a great initiative to motivate the students to make more movement and environmentally friendly traffic, as Stadtradeln.de.
