A festive weekend is coming! From June 27th to 29th, 2025, the city of Weiden will be the celebration location of the year. The traditional wine festival begins on Friday, June 27th, organized by the international service club Round Table, which supports regional charitable initiatives. Under the leadership of President Matthias Baumann, around 30 volunteer members are proud to put together an event that is not only fun, but also does good. Because 100 percent of all proceeds from the wine festival are donated. A big beneficiary is the Magic Project in Weiden, which supports youth work with 12,000 euros annually. DJ Reinhold “Borti” Bortner will provide musical entertainment and cool drinks and snacks will also be provided by a large mobile bar, which is being created in collaboration with local restaurateurs.
The wine festival is taking place behind the Old Eichamt for the third time. Start is at 6 p.m. and dismantling takes place that same night. If you want to secure a good spot, you should stop by early because the atmosphere promises to be exuberant.
Citizens' festival with a colorful program
The citizens' festival under the motto “From the citizens for the citizens” will officially open on Sunday, June 29th, also at 11 a.m. A total of around 60 providers will provide a wide range of culinary offerings on these two days. Musically it will be varied: six stages present different styles of music, including rock, Latino and country. A brief overview of the highlights of the festival: It is important that the festival area is closed from Saturday 5:00 p.m. to Sunday 11:00 p.m. Residents should park their vehicles in nearby parking lots in a timely manner and are advised to avoid backpacks and large luggage. Random bag checks will also be carried out during the festival to ensure the safety of all visitors. This community festival promises to be a real community experience for the people and guests of Weiden.
