30 years of sports history: TSV Detag Weiden celebrates a big alumni meeting!

It's that time again - the TSV Detag Weiden alumni meeting has opened its doors! On July 21, 2025, numerous former athletes met in a sociable gathering to celebrate 30 years of cohesion and shared passion for sport. This colorful get-together took place for the fifth time in the clubhouse of the Schirmitz small animal breeding association, where old stories and memories came to life late into the night. This reports that Upper Palatinate Echo.

Every year the visitors are literally glued to the old anecdotes, and that was the case this time too. Participants even traveled from cities like Regensburg, Nuremberg and Munich to be part of this special moment. A look back shows that the tradition of the meeting has been firmly anchored in club life since the merger with SV Weiden over 30 years ago.

A celebration for everyone

What would such a meeting be without the physical well-being? Dragan Miletic ensured that the guests didn't go hungry with his delicious rolled roasts and grilled chicken. Of course, culinary delights were part of good form and ensured that not only the conversations but also the culinary delights were in full swing. There were many new faces, which made the meeting particularly lively.

Organized by Thomas Lindner and Oliver Höllerer, the meeting shows how strong the TSV Detag Weiden community is. Not only are friendships maintained here, but the legacy of the club is also honored, which was founded in 1903 as the Weiden sports club and then merged in 1992 to form today's SpVgg SV Weiden. The club has experienced a lot in its history and is now in 7th place in the Bayernliga North.

A look into the club's history

SpVgg SV Weiden, now chaired by Michael Kurz, has experienced numerous ups and downs in the last few decades. After the bankruptcy and reorganization in 2010, the old team was formed into a new one that quickly made a name for itself. The club's development into today's SpVgg is a success story that reflects the commitment of the entire club and the fans. The home stadium, the Sparda Bank, offers space for up to 7,600 spectators and is a symbol of the connection with the city of Weiden in the Upper Palatinate.

The next meeting has already been decided and will be scheduled for 2026 - a clear sign that the love for sport and community remains unbroken. You can look forward to more unforgettable evenings full of stories and released memories, where you will revive your passion for football and TSV Detag Weiden.
