New funding projects in Unterallgäu: Commitment is rewarded!

A lot is happening in the Unterallgäu region! The Local Action Group (LAG) Kneippland has once again diligently selected projects that are supported by voluntary commitment in our towns. Funding through the Leader project “Support Citizen Engagement” has been running since 2017 and is very popular. This year a total of 10,643 euros is available for the second half of the year, and the first ideas can already be submitted. Merkur reports that everything from clubs, working groups to youth groups can be submitted to bring a breath of fresh air into the community.

The projects that have already been selected include the theater project “Zamma Fahra – Catching Monsters with Children, Young People and Seniors”, which will take place in Türkheim and Mindelheim. It is an excellent opportunity to bring the generations together and set creative accents together. The CVJM Lauben is also planning to build a shepherd's wagon to house play materials for children. Such initiatives show how important volunteer work is for our region.

Diverse projects for all generations

The interactive action board on the generation path between Schwaighausen and Holzgünz, which is initiated by the Holzgünz Women's Association, also promises fun and variety. Twelve different animal sounds can be assigned here, connecting young and old in a playful way. In addition, citizens from Holzgünz and Schwaighausen are campaigning for a covered outdoor space at the multi-generation area at HoSchMi-Hock. These projects promote community and create meeting places for all generations.

Not to be forgotten are the transportable huts that are built by the school support associations of the Babenhausen primary and secondary schools and the Babenhausen fire department. These huts make it possible to hold events and activities around schools - an excellent way to strengthen a sense of community and cohesion.

This is how it goes

Anyone who has a great idea can now submit new projects for the second half of 2025. The process is extremely simple: applications can be submitted to the LAG using an online form. Information about this is available online at lag.unterallgaeu.de. If you have any questions, Florentien Waldmann is available as a contact person - just call 08261/995-644 or send an email to regionalentwicklung@lra.unterallgaeu.de.

But it's not just in Unterallgäu that everything revolves around civic engagement. In Baden-Württemberg there is also broad support for initiatives and projects that benefit the community. The “Committed Together in BW IV” program supports innovative projects with grants of between 5,000 and 25,000 euros, which shows that commitment to society is at the forefront. Municipalities, cities and registered associations can get involved here Landratsamt Unterallgäu and Social Ministry of Baden-Württemberg.

All in all, it is clear that committed citizens bring a breath of fresh air into the community and are actively helping to shape our future. It's worth being there!
