In the past few weeks, several babies have seen the light of day, and the joy in families is huge. Liana Pauline Reich was born on June 8, 2025 in the tranquil Albersrieth. Her parents Lydia and Simon Reich look forward to their family growth. Two days later, on June 10, Percy Göppl was born in Bärnwinkel/Trabitz. His parents, Vanessa and Jonas Göppll, can also toast to an exciting time. On June 18, Elina Pöhlmann also saw the light of day in Döltsch, and her parents Marina and Christoph Pöhlmann can look forward to their daughter.

Throughout 2024, 1524 children were born in the Weiden Clinic - a gratifying increase compared to 2023 when the number was 1476. The gender distribution of the newborns was almost balanced: 785 boys and 739 girls saw the light of day. The clinic can also be proud of the twin births - there were a total of 20 twin births last year.

Current developments in birth statistics

The situation in Germany shows an exciting development in the birth rate. According to destatis.de , the merged birth number, known as TFR, has fluctuated in recent years, whereby the TFR has long been around 1.4 children per woman. This number is influenced by the changes in age -specific birth frequencies. The average childbearing and the number of births play a major role. At the moment, the level of preservation, i.e. the rate that would be necessary to replace the generation of parents, is at 2.07 children per woman. The trend shows that women are increasingly getting children later.

The registry office Weiden also has an important message. The births are no longer forwarded automatically. To ensure that newborns appear in the list, the parents should send an email to babys@oberpfalzecho.de or send a WhatsApp message. The full name of the child, the names of the parents, the date of birth and the place of residence, are also happy to be a photo.
