Violent thunderstorms and storm warnings: Bavaria is preparing!
Straubing-Bogen, Deutschland - Bayern is facing an uncomfortable weather conditions at the start of the Pentecost holidays. On June 6, all thunderstorms were temporarily lifted, but the predictions of the German Weather Service (DWD) indicate a new thunderstorm and gusts of wind. Merkur reports that the northern half of the Free State and the Alpine edge in particular could be affected. For June 6th, warnings were issued in many counties, including Cham and Regensburg.
But what exactly can we expect? A cold front is announced for Bavaria, which separates mild and moist air in the southeast of cooler air in the northwest. The meteorologists warn of up to 70 km/h and heavy rain with precipitation of up to 15 l/m² per hour. Even small hailstones could play a role, which is particularly dark for garden owners. The thunderstorms are particularly active in the afternoon of June 6th when the temperatures drop to a maximum of 16 to 19 degrees.
Pentecost days in the sign of the rain
The following Saturday, June 7th, Bayern can prepare for rain, especially in the southeast of the country. Pentecost Sunday (June 8) also remains wet, with stronger rainfall, especially south of the Danube. According to the forecast, the temperature scales will hardly go beyond 19 degrees this weekend. Only on Whit Monday (June 9th) could the sky be friendly, with temperatures up to 21 degrees.
But not only the current weather warnings are important, the type of warnings themselves are also important, as the Storm Center explains. A limitation can be distinguished in preliminary warnings and acute warnings. It is particularly delicate with an increased risk of thunderstorm, as the warnings are divided into different stages. Exorbitant hail damage and violent storm or hurricane gusts can be expected through acute warnings.
