Schwandorf in a state of emergency: community festival with scandalous incidents!

The past few days in Schwandorf have been anything but tranquil. An overview of the events in the region shows that not only cheerful celebrations, such as the citizens' festival, but also some less pleasant events dominated the agenda. Increased police attention to what was happening on the streets shows that, in addition to celebrations, difficulties were also an issue.

First of all, let's talk about the happy occasions: The community festival that took place last Saturday was characterized by a happy atmosphere. But as is often the case, there were also dark sides. On Saturday evening, specifically at 8:45 p.m., there was an incident in which a child of around 12 years old stole a gray plush dragon from a sales stand. The police have been informed and are asking for information on ☎️ (09431) 4301-0 to hold the petty thief responsible.

Unrest and legal consequences

Things got particularly tricky on the night from Saturday to Sunday when a 28-year-old from Schwandorf attacked a security guard in a bar. The security employee, 35 years old, sustained minor injuries. The attacker was not only banned from the house, but also faces legal proceedings. Another incident on Saturday night made people sit up and take notice: a 29-year-old wrestled with a security guard, while a 33-year-old from Schwandorf did not shy away from his insulting comments to police officers. The result was two complaints of insults, which once again made it clear that the mood can quickly change when you're in a celebratory mood.

But the police also had some other serious operations. On July 11, for example, a 56-year-old woman from Schwandorf was stopped during a traffic stop. Her breath alcohol test showed the impressive level of just under 1.6 per mille, which led to her driving license being revoked and a charge of drunk driving.

Another look at the police reports

As the oberpfalzecho.de reports, there were also other, less celebratory events. There was serious property damage this week when unknown perpetrators damaged three vehicles on Falkenauer Strasse. The damage to the sheet metal here amounts to around 4,500 euros. There were also serious arguments in a neighborhood conflict. Here an unknown man punched a hole in the door of a 61-year-old, resulting in property damage of around 100 euros.

The news of a shoplifting at the scan checkout in a supermarket on Brunnfeld was less encouraging. A 63-year-old man from Wackersdorf was caught smuggling goods worth 125 euros without paying. The police have opened an investigation against him.

Be careful on the roads

As oberpfalz-aktuell.com notes, there was also a shocking hit-and-run incident on Regensburger Straße. A 51-year-old cyclist suffered bruises after a pedestrian gave him the right of way and then fled. The police are looking for witnesses who saw the incident in order to find the perpetrator.

Of course, it should be noted that the police are still looking for relevant information about the various incidents. Whether at a community festival or in everyday life – the safety and well-being of citizens always come first. Despite all the challenges, one would like to return to more peaceful times, in which the focus is on celebrating and not on the legal consequences of such incidents.
