A highlight in July is the event around butterflies and other insects that starts on Saturday, July 12th, at 9:30 a.m. Walter Sage from the Federation of Nature Conservation and the Zoological Society of Braunau will lead the participants through a biotic surface with the ripple, meadows and pools. The observation of these little miracles of nature is free. The meeting point is again the parking lot at the bird tower in Eglsee.
On Sunday, July 27th, the information day on reptiles and amphibians also takes place. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Daniel Renner presents interesting exhibits from the world of creepers. A craft corner for children with snake mandalas and buttons ensures an additional fun factor. Entry to the exhibition is free of charge during the opening hours of the naturalium.
European reserve Unterer Inn - a paradise for nature lovers
The entire area of the Unterer Inn European reserve extends over around 5,500 hectares in the border area between Bavaria and Austria. Here nature lovers get their money's worth. The lower Inn is a true refuge with untouched outer forests, a variety of rare plant and animal species and numerous tensile and water birds. Over 200 species of birds will find ideal food sources and breeding sites. The observations of fish eagles, sea eagles and cormorants are particularly impressive.
By the way, the region is one of the Natura 2000 areas that enjoy large-scale protection according to the FFH and bird protection guideline in Germany. This is also supported by the numerous bike and hiking trails that enable visitors to experience breathtaking nature up close. There are two viewing platforms all year round that offer a wonderful view of the bird world.
The Naturium not only offers a varied program, but is also an excellent introduction to explore the beauty and biodiversity of the European reserve. If you feel like it, you can register quickly and easily via the online booking portal or directly via email or phone.
