Triple robbery in Rottal-Inn: Arrest warrants after brutal robbery!
What an excitement in the last few weeks: In Rottal-Inn, a 20-year-old was the victim of an attack on November 12, 2025. At 8:30 p.m., while he was in his apartment with two friends, three youths stormed in and demanded money. The attack took a violent turn when the perpetrators allegedly beat the victim with a stick and held him down. In self-defense, a friend of the victim gave the demanded amount after the attack, but before calm was restored, some items, including a necklace and headphones, were also stolen. The incident and the destruction of parts of the apartment furnishings are shocking and shed light on the increasing youth crime in the region, which, according to current reports, is showing a worrying trend.
On Wednesday, the day of the search warrants, the suspects, aged 19 and 20, appeared in front of the district court in Landshut. At the request of the public prosecutor, arrest warrants were issued on suspicion of aggravated robbery. During searches at their home addresses, authorities recovered evidence and even marijuana, making the scope of the case clearer. The suspects were immediately transferred to the correctional facility to prevent further incidents. The situation has not only shocked the parties concerned, but also raises questions about security in the region. [idowa.de] reports that…
Young people are the focus of the investigation
Similar incidents are increasing in Bavaria. On July 15, 2025, a group of three young people was attacked in Passau at Nibelungenplatz, and here too the perpetrators are on the list of suspects. Five young men aged 15 to 18 were identified. The investigation, initiated by the Passau criminal police and the public prosecutor's office, led to searches on August 31, 2025, during which cell phones were seized. In this case, too, arrest warrants were issued for two of the suspects, a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old, who now also find themselves behind bars.
The increase in juvenile crime cannot be overlooked. The numbers speak for themselves: In 2024, Germany registered around 13,800 cases of youth violence, more than twice as many as in 2016. Male young people are particularly affected, accounting for almost three quarters of all suspects in the statistics. And even though the total number of young suspects fell by around 6 percent last year, concerns about the intensity and brutality of the crimes remain a major issue. [Statista] informs that…
Frightening trends and their causes
The reasons for these worrying developments are complex. Psychological stress caused by the Corona measures as well as risk factors among young people seeking protection are discussed as the main reasons. In addition, social norms and family systems sometimes make a significant difference. The traditional gender role model affects the behavior of young men and could increase their tendency to commit violent acts. Questions about the application of criminal law to children under 14 have recently been used as a basis for discussion to consider how serious crimes such as robbery and assault should be dealt with.
In view of the increasing willingness to use violence among young people, not only repressive measures are necessary, but above all preventative programs that should be supported by child and youth welfare services. This is the only way to prevent criminal careers from the outset and give young people the opportunity to take a positive path.
