Blood donations: 32 heroes from Rottal-Inn honored – saving lives counts!
On July 17, 2025, the BRK Rottal-Inn district association honored 32 blood donors for their important contribution to medical care.

Yesterday was a special day for the BRK Rottal-Inn district association. In a warm ceremony, 32 long-time blood donors were honored for their tireless efforts. The event took place in the classroom of the district office, and among the well-wishers were the district administrator as well as BRK district association chairman Michael Fahmüller, district manager Andreas Rehrl and district preparedness manager Daniel Jetzlsperger.
During his speech, Michael Fahmüller emphasized the immense importance of blood donation. Around 2,000 blood donations are needed every day in Bavaria to maintain medical care. Every single blood donation can even save up to three lives. This impressive number shows how valuable and indispensable donors are to the community.
Special honors
The honorees had donated between 75 and 175 blood donations. These included:
- 13 Personen für 75 Spenden
- 7 Personen für 100 Spenden
- 7 Personen für 125 Spenden
- 2 Personen für 150 Spenden
- 3 Personen für 175 Spenden
Of the 32 honorees, 17 took part in the celebration in person. The people honored by name included Martin Brunner (125), Elisabeth Dadlhuber (100), and Josef Girgnhuber (175) - a real reason to celebrate for everyone who has been committed to the good cause for decades.
A common get-together
After the awards there was a pleasant atmosphere and a cozy get-together. The BRK cooking group from Triftern had prepared a Bavarian menu that rounded off the evening. “It’s nice to see how so many people are committed to helping others,” commented Andreas Rehrl and expressed his thanks to all blood donors.
Regular blood donation appointments
One more reason to get active: Blood donations are possible regularly in the Rottal-Inn district. The Bavarian Red Cross blood donation service organizes the appointments in several locations, including:
- Arnstorf
- Bad Birnbach
- Eggenfelden
- Gangkofen
- Pfarrkirchen
- Simbach am Inn
- Tann
