Free information about heat planning: Future Oberaudorf in view!

An important event is just around the corner: The municipality of Oberaudorf invites you to an information evening for municipal heat planning on July 1, 2025. In the Kursaal, the popular house of the guest, the citizens have the opportunity to find out about the future heat supply of their home. The evening should explain various scenarios for environmentally friendly heat supply and is accessible free of charge.

The goal of the community is to develop a municipal heat plan that sets the course for sustainable energy future. Numerous preliminary talks and planning meetings were already taking place. The first results of the heat plan will be presented on September 18, 2024, as reported by the Gruene Fernwaerme. The event offers a varied program: Mayor Dr. Matthias Bernhardt will open the evening, followed by a lecture by Harald Rapp, who will present the advantages of the municipal heat transition.

A look into the future of heat supply

As the current discussion on energy supply shows, the transformation of fossil to climate -neutral heat sources is a big goal by 2045. The main part of the heat in many German cities comes from natural gas and coal. Renewable energies still play a subordinate role with a share of just 18.8 % of the final energy consumption for heat and cold in 2023, as the [study of the Kowid] (https://kowid.de/2024/22/neue-studie-des-kowid-transformation-der-kommunalen-energie supply-ziele-herspersporten-der-kommunalen-waermanplanung/) shows. The goal of the heat transition is to change this and implement sustainable heating networks at the local level.

However, the challenges of municipal heat planning should not be underestimated. There are considerable costs of 520 million euros by 2028, with personnel and infrastructure expenditure playing a major role. Another problem is the tense budget situations in some municipalities, which affects particularly smaller municipalities. A proposal from experts is that municipalities could merge in the "convoy procedure" in order to save costs together and bridge personal bottlenecks.

invitation to participate

The information evening on July 1 is not only an opportunity to collect information, but also to actively participate in the energy transition. The citizens in Oberaudorf are called to bring their questions and concerns. Immediately after the presentations, a question and answer session will take place, led by experts from Innergie GmbH and other participants who are available to discuss the concerns of the citizens.

In times when climate protection is becoming increasingly important, it is essential that smaller communities such as Oberaudorf also deal with this topic. The chance to raise municipal heat supply to a new level not only harbors individual advantages for the population, but can also make an important contribution to regional development. Be there and actively shape the energy future of your home gear!
