Trial against Hells Angels: Rocker attack shocks Munich!

Today, June 11, 2025, a trial began in Munich against three suspected rockers for an armed attack. The incident, which took place five years ago near the Munich Nordfriedhof, raises numerous questions and casts a shadow over the city's already scandalous rocker scene. The defendants, aged 33, 35 and 39, belong to a branch of the Hells Angels and the public prosecutor's office accuses them of grievous bodily harm. They are accused of kicking and punching three men, using a stabbing weapon and a firearm. What was particularly brutal was that the main target of the attack, who was believed to have links to a rival rocker gang, suffered stab wounds in the back, while two other people were also injured Frankenpost.

What is behind such aggression in the rocker scene? According to the Federal Criminal Police Office, rocker crime has a lot to do with belonging and solidarity within the groups. Rocker groups like Hells Angels or Bandidos are hierarchically structured and are characterized by close personal ties and a low willingness to cooperate with the police. Both togetherness and loyalty are often symbolized by special clothing or badges BKA. In recent years there has been an increasing number of violent clashes between rocker groups, with a high level of criminal energy, which is not least characterized by past enmities and territorial claims.

A man between the fronts

A further look at the scene is provided by the surfaced photograph of Lothar H. (60), a former Hells Angels member with a criminal record, who recently posed with members of the “Rock Machine” in Denmark. According to his lawyer Stephan Lucas, this was done out of friendship and in no way as a provocation. Nevertheless, the picture raises questions, especially because H. is known as a serious criminal who has already spent around ten years in prison and was convicted of attempted murder in 2018. After his release from prison, rumors began circulating that he might be recruiting new members for a rocker's club, which was met with mixed reactions in the scene. The police, on the other hand, remain skeptical, as there is so far no concrete evidence of a new local branch of the “Rock Machine” in Munich Picture.

It is questionable whether the rocker scene in Munich will remain calm. The police are monitoring the situation closely, but remain cautious in dealing with potential conflicts and already have measures in place. After all, explosive outbreaks have often occurred in the past, in which stabbings and firearms are not uncommon. The uncertainty that exists in the rocker scene still seems to be high.
