The folk festival season in the Pfaffenhofen a.d.Ilm district is just around the corner and promises a colorful hustle and bustle of tradition, fun and conviviality. The organizers have already put together an appealing program that will attract not only locals but also visitors from the entire region. The KUS, the municipal company for structural development in the Pfaffenhofen district, provides information about the upcoming highlights at the festivals and markets. Landkreis-Pfaffenhofen.de reports that the variety of events starts in July.
A highlight right at the beginning is the 54th Couples Festival in Reichertshofen, which takes place from July 25th to 28th. Here visitors can look forward to exciting competitions such as sautrog racing and fishing jousting. In August the festival program continues with the Laurenzimarkt in Ernsgaden, which takes place from August 1st to 3rd.
Folk festivals in August
The 75th Hallertau Folk Festival in Wolnzach, which takes place from August 8th to 18th, is another must in the event calendar. Particularly noteworthy is the historical parade, which impressively presents the roots of the region. The Barthelmarkt in Oberstimm, which runs from August 29th to September 1st, is also on the program.
September brings the Pfaffenhofen Folk Festival, which is celebrated on the Volksfestplatz from September 5th to 16th. If you're ever in the area, you shouldn't miss the Geisenfeld Folk Festival, which takes place from September 19th to 23rd and offers a special attraction in the form of a training fair that takes place on September 27th in the folk festival tent.
Additional events
In addition to the large folk festivals, there are also smaller highlights. The community festival in Hohenwart on August 1st and 2nd and Women's Day in Jetzendorf on August 15th round off the offering.
