District administrator honors true heroes: Committed citizens for the community honored!
In a celebratory ceremony, committed citizens in the Pfaffenhofen district were honored for their many years of voluntary work. District Administrator Albert Gürtner emphasized the importance of volunteer work for the community and praised the diversity of commitments that make a decisive contribution to improving the quality of life in the district. “Volunteering is a mainstay of our society,” says Gürtner, who also sees the honor as an expression of civic spirit and recognition for the volunteers’ hard work. Numerous family members, award sponsors, club representatives and mayors took part in the celebration and created a warm atmosphere.
The winners are:

A token of appreciation
This honor on July 24, 2025 once again illustrates how important voluntary work is for the social structure. Particularly in view of the recently celebrated International Day of Volunteering, commitment to the community in one's free time is recognized. Other initiatives in the region also support this appreciation and promote lively coexistence. The district is sending a strong signal and encouraging other citizens to get involved on a voluntary basis.
There is also exciting news in another part of the region: the Erftal car dealership in Bürgstadt is currently looking for automotive mechatronics technicians, while the new AVIA gas station in Eschau has opened with a 24-hour service. The gas station has several opening promotions on offer - from baked goods to regional products, which will be offered until the end of August. Such innovative projects show that commitment is of great importance not only in volunteer work, but also in business and enriches local life.
These numerous initiatives make it clear that something is really happening here in Bavaria. Volunteering is flourishing and the community benefits from every individual who works for the well-being of others.
