Annual review 2025: Exciting developments in the Nuremberg region!
The last months of 2025 have brought some exciting news and developments in the Nuremberg region. While the spring and early summer were marked by important events, of which the Rummelsberg Clinic stands out, there are also numerous cultural and community highlights to report.
With the opening of an additional care station on April 1, 2025, n-land.de caused a stir right at the beginning of the year. The Rummelsberg Clinic now has 20 beds available for internal medicine and 14 beds for general and visceral surgery. The rooms that had previously served as changing rooms and offices for pediatric, adolescent and neuroorthopedics were converted. Demand was so great that half of the new beds were already occupied on the first day. The hospital employs over 850 people who ensure high-quality care. sana.de highlights the interaction between different professional groups, which is crucial for the well-being of patients.
Feel-good factor and cultural highlights
In April, the Nuremberg region was named the trendiest wellness region in Germany by Wellnessurlaub.com, which was proven by high demand in Google searches. This award makes it clear once again that the region is very popular for recreation and health.
Speaking of health: Health care in Germany has changed significantly in recent years. According to statista.com, there are now only 1,874 hospitals in all of Germany, which is over 120 fewer than a decade ago. During the same period, the number of cases in the clinics fell, which is partly due to the corona pandemic. The constant decline in bed capacity is still an urgent issue, and the Rummelsberg Clinic is meeting this challenge with a dedicated team and a new ward.
Local events and engagement
The cities and communities in the Nuremberg region have also continued the tradition of colorful Easter fountains, and a picture gallery of the most beautiful fountains has been published. This shows the region's cultural commitment and the desire to keep traditions alive.
A different form of community spirit was evident at the 24th Country Circuit, which took place at the end of May. Around 1,500 participants laced up their running shoes and completed the 53.3 km route from Entenberg to Ezelsdorf. The “Run Crew” was able to assert itself as the winner again.
With regard to social responsibility and environmental awareness, the EU directive on the separate collection of used clothing will be implemented from 2025. This policy aims to improve reuse and recycling. However, the discussion about overfilled used clothing containers shows that a lot of educational work is still necessary.
In summary, it can be said that the Nuremberg region was characterized by a variety of activities in the first six months of 2025, which are characterized above all by a strong sense of community and a high level of commitment to health and traditions.
