Neumarkt municipal utilities confirmed the incident and worked quickly to determine the causes of the outage. Initial analyzes identified a defective transformer house as a possible cause, but the municipal utilities stated that other technical errors also had to be ruled out. The situation was particularly tense in the west of the city, while no problems were reported in the Lähr and Wolfstein districts.
