On December 24, 2025, when the smell of Christmas cookies wafts through the air and lights sparkle in the windows of the cities, many people will spend Christmas Eve with their family and friends. But not everyone is so blessed; Many people want to experience the celebration of love in community, but unfortunately they don't have any company. This need is taken into account in the Ulm and Neu-Ulm region.

The Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Neu-Ulm is hosting a special community celebration on Christmas Eve. Here, single and lonely people can enjoy a piece of Christmas in a warm and inviting setting. This is by no means the only offering in the area, but the spaces available are limited and not enough to accommodate everyone interested. How Augsburger Allgemeine reports, many people are looking for places where they don't have to feel alone on these festive days.

Celebration together instead of loneliness

The Evangelical Lutheran Parish not only organizes smaller celebrations, but also acts as a contact point for offers of help to look after lonely people. For those who would like to get involved, there are also opportunities to get involved through personal responsibility, such as contributing home-baked cakes or cookies. This is also the view of the Diakonie Neu-Ulm and the St. Peter's Church, which carry out a similar Christmas campaign on Christmas Eve in collegial cooperation.

Staying in community is seen as a key measure to combat the mostly silent loneliness that many suffer during the festive season. Loud NDR It is often very important for those affected to be seen and recognized in such moments.

But loneliness during the holidays is a widespread phenomenon: a survey found that almost four in ten participants often or sometimes feel lonely. The commitment that is being made in Neu-Ulm and the surrounding area to address this problem is all the more remarkable.

It remains to be hoped that the numerous events and offers can also help make this special evening a more beautiful experience for the lonely hearts in the region. Because what could be better than happy togetherness, especially when the world outside is festively decorated?
