New heart of the Munich police: Modernized operational center!

In Munich, the new police headquarters were officially inaugurated, and police chief Thomas Hampel praised it as the "heart of the Munich police". The extensive renovation, which cost 3.2 million euros and took 15 months, was necessary after the last comprehensive renovation took place in 1996. Thanks to the new technical equipment, the operations center is well equipped for the coming years.

The ten jobs in emergency calls, which are equipped with four monitors, are particularly impressive. These screens allow the officials to see the stripes stationed nearby and automatically transmit text messages to the radio spokesman. A major progress is the Advanced Mobile Location Technology, which enables the callers to be located in real time, even if they cannot specify their location.

around the clock ready for use

The operations center is occupied around the clock 365 days a year and processes impressive 400,000 emergency calls annually, which leads to about 300,000 missions. Especially in stressful situations, such as the attack on the Israeli Consulate General, the officials must be able to react at lightning speed. Therefore, a new video room was set up, which enables access to pictures of 2500 cameras in the city. These cameras come not only from the police, but also from urban traffic surveillance, the Munich Transport Society (MVG) and private sources.

The renovation also laid 40 kilometers of cables for network, glass fiber and electricity in order to create an optimal technical basis. At every workplace, the officials are now equipped with a landline telephone and a touch screen, which makes it easier for you to access important telephone numbers. In the newly designed work environment, which has modern air conditioning technology and height -adjustable desks, you can work efficiently and concentrated.

modern emergency call systems for all

The city of Munich also offers an app that enables citizens to quickly get in touch with the police, fire brigade and the emergency services. This practical application uses the location function of the mobile device to transmit the exact location to the operations center. So the emergency services can localize the callers, even if they do not know their location. The possibility is particularly helpful to make emergency calls without language- a relief for people with limited language and hearing skills. The app is available free of charge in the Apple App Store and in the Google Play Store.

Numerous emergency call systems are also available for older people and people with physical or mental restrictions. These systems are designed to automatically call help in an emergency. Home emergency call systems that consist of a base station and a portable transmitter are already standard in numerous senior -friendly apartments. They enable quick communication in an emergency and can even be installed retrospectively. Mobile emergency call systems also offer GPS to determine the location, which increases its effectiveness. A renowned provider describes these systems as particularly reliable and effective.

The selection of the right emergency call system depends heavily on the individual situation. While mobile systems offer high flexibility, home emergency call systems are often an integral part of everyday life of older people. The importance of safe emergency call systems cannot be assessed highly enough in critical moments.
