Logistics trade fair in Munich: Revolution through AI and sustainable solutions!

The transport logistic 2025 in Munich was a complete success and showed how central logistics is in our everyday lives. “Smooth supply chains are the be-all and end-all,” said Stefan Rummel, Managing Director of Messe München, at the opening by Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder. The trade fair recorded a significant increase in participants, which created a fresh atmosphere that promoted networking and exchange.

From a technological point of view, there was a lot on the agenda. Autonomous transport solutions, smart platforms and AI-supported control systems dominated events. The conference evenings were characterized by panels and specialist lectures on topics such as digitalization and cybersecurity. It was primarily the new solutions and approaches to AI that aroused interest.

Innovative technologies in focus

The use of artificial intelligence, as highlighted by Prof. Uwe Clausen from Fraunhofer IML, offers enormous advantages for companies with complex supply chains. “AI can streamline processes and improve forecasts,” says Clausen. Various exciting projects were presented, including:GreenComplAI, which is developing a digital product passport for sustainable supply chains, andInstaSCAN, which digitizes paper-based transport documents.

No savings were made in the area of security either. Three innovative solutions from the SKALA research project were presented at the trade fair, which help companies to make their business processes more efficient. That was a highlightREff Tool, an online application for assessing greenhouse gas emissions in logistics.

Air freight on the rise

Also notable was the increasing importance of air freight, which was classified as systemically important for medical goods and time-critical deliveries. The integrated air cargo Europe occupied two full halls this year, which underlined its growing relevance. Decision-makers from a wide range of countries came to discuss the latest trends and challenges in the industry.

An impressive example of the power of AI in the logistics sector is the COOKIE project, which aims to more quickly detect damage to containers. AI-powered systems help optimize routes and better utilize space for containers, ultimately increasing efficiency and avoiding production bottlenecks.

“The trade fair is an indispensable platform for us,” said Tobias König from the Rhenus Group. Dr. Frank Albers from Krone Trailer emphasized that the event is considered a central meeting point for the industry. The four days of the trade fair were characterized by dynamism, relevance and concrete business approaches that brought together both old hands and new faces.

transport logistic 2025 was not just a trade fair, but a statement: Logistics is changing and the future belongs to the innovative. The combination of international flair and the exchange of ideas makes the trade fair an event that should be marked in red on the calendar.
