Folk festival inspires polling: colorful pictures from August 15th!
Last Friday the eagerly awaited folk festival took place in Polling near Mühldorf am Inn. Despite the many festive activities, unfortunately no further details about the festival were released. The online platform Innsalzach24 shared several images from the event that capture the happy mood of the visitors.
Such folk festivals are particularly popular in Bavaria and attract people from near and far year after year. They are a wonderful opportunity to experience Bavarian culture, be social and enjoy traditional food and drinks. From pretzels to beer – everything is a must!
A look at the larger counterpart: Cannstatter Volksfest
Cannstatter Volksfest is known as the second largest beer festival in the world and attracts millions to the Swabian metropolis every year. In 2024, the festival recorded 4.6 million visitors, while the Oktoberfest in Munich even attracted 6.7 million guests.
From September 26th to October 12th, 2025, Cannstatter Wasen will once again be a celebration location for beer lovers. The entry costs are pleasant: you can go there without any worries, but you have to pay a little for food and drinks. A beer costs around 15 euros, and for a good meal in the tents you should budget 10 to 40 euros.
Tradition meets modernity
The festival in Stuttgart is characterized by a combination of traditional and modern atmosphere. Visitors often wear dirndls and lederhosen, but can also appear in casual clothing. With eight different beer tents, each offering their own specialties, there is something for every taste. From the Almhütte Royal with Tyrolean cuisine to the legendary Göckelesmaier, where the famous fried chicken is served - the variety is huge.
As in Polling, the Cannstatter Volksfest is also a place for encounters and celebrations. There are numerous special events, including offers for the LGBTQ+ community, as well as varied entertainment programs. There are also numerous rides and game stands for additional fun!
Whether in Polling or Stuttgart – folk festivals are a great way to celebrate life and network with others. And who knows? Perhaps a larger festival will soon be organized in Polling, which could further enliven the region.
