District league innovations: This is how amateur football will change in 2025/26!
Interesting news from the football world in the Inn-Salzach district: Chris Sofis, the district game manager from Seebruck, has rearranged the district leagues for the 2025/26 season. This brings a breath of fresh air into the action and ensures exciting football. In the future, District League 1 will include 15 teams, stretching from Flintsbach to the mouth of the Salzach. It is particularly noteworthy that SG Tüßling/Teising is also represented in this group. The PNP reports that Group 2 consists of 14 clubs and covers the beautiful Chiemgau and Rupertiwinkel, from Schloßberg to Anger.
The district classes have also undergone changes. Three teams from Rosenheim have moved to Group 2, which ensures the exciting local derbies between Schechen and Bad Aibling. In group 3 the field of participants extends from Neumarkt-St. Veit to just before Traunstein, while Group 4 was upgraded with five new teams. A total of 332 teams have registered for the new season, which means an increase of one team compared to last season.
Change of club and new gaming communities
The Odenwälder may be doing good business, but the situation for SV Unterwössen and SC Schleching looks less rosy: These two clubs have to reorient themselves due to the dissolution of their syndicate. There is also news from the syndicate between SV Ramerberg and ASV Rott, which will be represented by two teams in the A class. In addition, TSV Feichten has merged with the third team of SV Linde Tacherting.
What can fans expect? The district leagues start with the first games on August 15th, the autumn games run until November 9th. The second team from SB-DJK Rosenheim will do its best in the B class, while FC Töging has withdrawn its third team from the B class. The start of District League 1, which only starts on the last weekend of February 2026, will also be exciting. District league 2 and the district classes follow on March 20th. This gives the clubs a little more time to do their fine work and prepare for the challenges.
More than just a reorganization
But there were not only changes in the team lineups. TuS Traunreut won champions in the C class last season, but will be limited to two teams. This step could focus on improving performance and developing young talent. The district classes have now been increased to 14 clubs each, while the A and B classes will each play with twelve teams in the future.
Finally, it remains to be said that the division of the teams can still be subject to changes up to a week before the start of the season. Football fans in the Inn-Salzach district can look forward to an exciting season in which one or two spectators will certainly share their experiences on the pitch with friends.
