Gufferthütte shines after renovation: invitations for the summer season!
After the long winter rest period that the Gufferthütte had to spend in the beautiful Mühldorf, it is now waking up just in time for the summer season under the skilled hands of volunteers. The DAV Mühldorf section, together with the Ecksberg Foundation, has prepared the hut for the coming months Innsalzach24 reports.
A comprehensive package of renovations was implemented. Not only were the drinking water supply, sewage treatment plant and the entire electrical and gas supply put back into operation, but a new multi-layer filter for drinking water treatment was also installed. Over 100 shutters were given a new coat of paint so that the hut shines again in its full splendour.
A goal for everyone
The Gufferthütte, which has been open again since May 16, 2025, invites mountaineers, cyclists and families to stay. Landlady Kathleen Beutmann ensures the physical well-being of the guests on site. This central contact point not only offers a place to relax, but also a tasty range of food.
A look into the future shows: The Mühldorf section is already planning further projects for the coming years. Anyone interested in getting involved can contact the hut warden directly and submit their ideas and suggestions.
Help and experience
There are also opportunities to get involved for anyone interested in volunteer work. The Alpine Club's volunteer exchange is looking for capable helpers for various short-term assignments in huts and paths. These are ideal for active people who like to be in nature and have manual skills Alpine Club explained.
The emergency services are greeted with a warm welcome by the hut landlords and receive an introduction to the activities. Anyone interested should prepare well: the necessary equipment includes robust, weatherproof clothing and mountain boots so that they can cope with the challenges in the mountains. It also includes a cozy time after work with food and an evening in the hut.
With all of these developments, the Gufferthütte has not only established itself as a destination for outdoor enthusiasts, but is also a place where community and volunteer work are practiced. Those interested can find further information on the website DAV Mühldorf section.
