The contemplative pre-Christmas season has arrived and with it the anticipation of the festive Christmas markets. In Bavaria, the Christmas market in Miltenberg am Main is very popular. This year it will take place on the three Advent weekends between December 5th and 21st, 2025. Visitors can visit the market on Fridays from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Entry is free, which makes the event all the more attractive to soak up the festive spirit.
The market extends across the picturesque old town of Miltenberg, which is known for its well-preserved half-timbered facades from the 16th and 17th centuries. In particular, the historic “Schnatterloch” market square, the Old Town Hall and the Mildenburg castle courtyard offer atmospheric backdrops. Artisans exhibit their works in the Old Town Hall and fire bowls and candlelight in the castle courtyard create a cozy atmosphere.

The culinary delights are also catered for: mulled wine and Feuerzangenbowle as well as hearty and vegetarian dishes are on the culinary menu. Visitors can purchase handmade products at the festively decorated stands and look forward to a pre-Christmas shopping experience in the owner-managed shops in the old town. There is even a small outlet center available to guests.
