New personnel transport vehicle Karl strengthens the Memmingen fire department!

The Memmingen Volunteer Fire Department has reason to be happy! A new personnel transport vehicle (MTW) was presented at a celebratory ceremony, which not only upgrades the vehicle fleet, but also makes an important contribution to operational readiness. The car was inaugurated in the presence of Mayor Jan Rothenbacher and City Fire Commissioner Raphael Niggl and bears the respectful name “Karl”, in honor of the former train driver Karl Reicherseder, who made particular contributions to the partnership work with Teramo in Italy and St. Julien in southern France. The city priests, Father Joshy Palakunnel and Pastor Ralf Matthes, blessed the new transport vehicle, which will now be used for exercises, operations and youth work by the fire department.

The investment of around 46,000 euros, of which around 17,940 euros is subsidized by the Free State of Bavaria, shows the city of Memmingen's commitment to the safety of its citizens. The MTW, a Ford Transit with space for up to nine people, complements the equipment and promotes the smooth execution of operations in which many emergency services are involved. Frank Greiner, the chairman of the association, praised the support of city representatives, which enabled a significant expansion of the fire brigade's mobility.

Expansion of the fleet fleet

But that's not all! In addition to the new personnel transport vehicle, the Memmingen Volunteer Fire Department also received a hazardous goods equipment vehicle (GW-G) and an emergency fire service vehicle (HLF). These vehicles were handed over as part of another ceremony and their total cost amounts to an impressive 1.3 million euros. Of this sum, the city contributes around 880,000 euros, while the rest is covered by the Free State of Bavaria.

Mayor Rothenbacher emphasized that the protection of the citizens' leaders was a priority. The two new vehicles actively support this concern: The GW-G is specially designed for dangerous goods accidents and, with its extensive equipment, including a drone, provides the necessary tools for an emergency. The HLF, on the other hand, with a capacity for a group leader and eight fire department members, is characterized by a high-performance fire pump that pumps at least 2,000 liters of water per minute. This means that the emergency services are ideally equipped to react quickly to fires and other emergencies.

As soon as the alarm bells ring

The importance of modern fire engines cannot be underestimated. How on fachanwalt.de described, powerful equipment and functional vehicles are crucial for quick and effective help in fires and other emergencies. The market demands are high, and that is why municipalities invest in the latest technology to guarantee citizens the best possible protection.

The new vehicles are not only equipped with modern extinguishing technology, but also special systems for fighting vehicle fires, especially in electric vehicles. This comprehensive package of new vehicles, which includes flexible use of the MTW from drills to partnership rides, is a real win for the fire department and the entire city.

With a clear focus on safety and technical progress, the Memmingen fire department is redefining its role as a hub for the city community and at the same time positioning itself as a strong partner in disaster control. The further development of the equipment is a step into the future and a real reason to be proud of your own fire department!
