FC Memmingen celebrates 4-0 victory in the first test game of the season!

In an impressive first test game of summer preparation, FC Memmingen clearly won 4-0 against VfB Durach yesterday. In summer temperatures on the south square in the stadium, the Memmingen performed a strong performance, which visibly delighted the 80 spectators. The first goal was not long in coming: Timo Schmidt opened the game in the 5th minute, followed by Fabian Lutz, who added in the 7th minute. Jakob Gräser made it 3-0 in the 10th minute and shortly before half -time he even increased to 4: 0 (42nd minute) - a clear expression of the dominance that showed the home side. Only an outstanding rescue operation by Manuel Methfessel prevented that Durach fell even higher.

Trainer Matthias Günes could see some of his newcomers on the square. Among other things, the new faces Mohamed Fofanah, Christian Mijatovic and Fabian Lutz were there on this day with "guest performances" and were able to show what they could do on it. "It was a successful start to the preparation," said Günes, who now attracts the reins tighter after a short vacation. An all-round strike in the second half-the co-trainer Candy Decker had 21 players used except for defense chief David Bauer-showed the depth of the squad. Unfortunately, however, some important players, as Captain Lukas Rietzler and Fabian Kroh, had to be dispensed with, since the latter has suffered a torn muscle fiber and has to pause for several weeks, while Rietzler and others are still in construction training.

next challenge for FC Memmingen

The next test game will be on the program tomorrow. At 3 p.m., FC Memmingen will play an advertising game against SSV Markt Rettenbach. It gets particularly exciting here, since the trainer from Markt Rettenbach, Joachim Dewein, is the father of FCM goalkeeper Dominik. So you can hope for an exciting duel!

The preparations are far from complete. In the coming weeks, further test games and trophy encounters will be on the program. On June 28, Memmingen will meet FV Ravensburg, followed by a flood beefic game against SG TV Sontheim/FC Westerheim a day later. An important date is also July 4, when it comes to FC Kempten in the BFV Toto Cup. Another highlight will be the Brauhaus Cup in Kempten on July 5, in which, in addition to Memmingen, well-known opponents such as FC Augsburg II play.

"There is still a lot of work ahead of us," explains Günes, adding that he wants to gain important knowledge about the team through the test games. "The newcomers will continue to fit in and the boys from the U21 will show that they are ready to take the next step." Another test is already on July 4, before going against TSV Schwaben Augsburg. If you take a closer look at FC Memmingen's preparatory plans, you can see that the regional league is in exciting weeks and wants to prepare for the new season well.
