Walking meetings in Main-Spessart: Active and healthy together!

Something is happening again in Bavaria! The city of Gemünden and the town of Karlstadt have decided to create a walking club that not only promotes exercise, but also meetings and social conversations. The initiative, which was launched last April, has proven to be a success and attracts numerous interested parties. The BRK self-help office and the Main-Spessart district office organized the first four dates, but due to the positive feedback, the participants wanted to continue the meetings on their own in the future. So if you're interested, you can just stop by and join in - you don't need to register!

The meeting point in Karlstadt is every Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Bahnhofsplatz, on the side of the bus station. In Gemünden, walkers meet every Monday at 4:30 p.m. at the bus stop in front of the town hall. Here the route is determined spontaneously, depending on the participants' mood. The most important thing is that you are good on foot and can walk for about an hour. If you want to equip yourself with weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy shoes and perhaps a drink, you can do so in a relaxed manner. Open hearts and minds are welcome at this walking meeting - no matter how old or fit you are!

The walking meetings not only have a health aspect, but also aim to promote social interaction. It's often the simple things that make everyday life more beautiful. How nice is it to make new acquaintances and renew old friendships during a leisurely walk in a relaxed atmosphere? The concept is child's play and, above all, uncomplicated - and that's exactly what the population likes.

Used furnishings are sold to those seeking help through the “Furniture Exchange”. Furniture providers can register their free offers here and the Caritas Association takes care of public relations. Interested parties can then contact the providers directly to clarify everything else, such as transport and the time of handover. Here too, everything is free as long as the furniture is intact - a real service to others!
