Meranier-Gymnasium: 204 packages bring Christmas joy to Eastern Europe!

Advent is just around the corner, and the Meranier-Gymnasium Lichtenfels has once again put in a lot of effort to give special Christmas joy to children in need in Eastern Europe. In an impressive joint project, students, teachers and parents have diligently collected items over the last four weeks and put together a total of 215 lovingly packaged packages, 30 more than last year. These colorful packages, filled with toys, sweets, warm clothing and many other surprises, shine not only because of their packaging with glittering bows, but also because of the hope they carry.

The idea behind these actions by the Meranier-Gymnasium, which has been part of the Christmas parcel convoy for many years Round Table Kulmbach is, goes far beyond pure gifts. Here, students are not only taught how important it is to help others, but also to become active themselves. Children are motivated to donate well-preserved toys and share joy. The pleasing result of these efforts also brought transport logistics into focus, with Q12 students actively helping to load the packages into Christian Backert and Julian Trebes' van.

A big step for the little ones

On November 30th, the lovingly wrapped gifts will be sent on their journey to the children in need. Mr. Backert, president of the volunteer association and a committed supporter, will even ride in one of the 40 trucks to ensure that the gifts reach orphanages, schools, hospitals and kindergartens in Eastern Europe safely. In total, the goal is to distribute around 200,000 packages, with the smiles and joy of the children as they unwrap the gifts being the heart of the convoy.

But how can you imagine these logistics behind the scenes? The Christmas parcel convoy is supported by a network of volunteers who are active throughout Germany. They take care of recruiting new schools and kindergartens to pack packages, organize collection points and help with wrapping the gifts. Thanks to their efforts and the tireless efforts of volunteers, the campaign is only possible. Each of the helpers plays a crucial role: from coordinating the collection points to organizing and feeding the teams.

What remains is joy, especially in the contemplative time of year when the sea of lights of the pre-Christmas season shines in people's hearts. The Meranier-Gymnasium and everyone involved make a valuable contribution to bringing a piece of Christmas happiness to children in need. Anyone who would also like to get involved is warmly invited to get in touch and help. Because even the smallest gestures can have a big impact!
