Lichtenfels traffic cadets: Nine new helpers for safe roads!
The Lichtenfels traffic cadets have had a new addition: nine new members are now part of the committed team that is committed to ensuring road safety. As the Mainpost reported, the training took place in a course lasting several days in the youth center. Anna Wunderlich led this course with a lot of dedication and prepared the new cadets for their tasks.
The training focused on both theoretical and practical knowledge. In the theoretical part, the road traffic regulations were particularly discussed. Here the participants had to deal intensively with the topics of traffic law, traffic regulations and the various traffic signs. Particular attention was paid to the basics that are also relevant to the driving license test.
What are Traffic Cadets?
Traffic cadets are primarily teenagers and young adults who volunteer and help at events or during times of high traffic. According to the Wikipedia They work independently or in cooperation with the police, fire brigade and other security authorities. These departments, which exist in many countries, including Germany and Switzerland, are predominantly youth organizations. The age group typically ranges from 12 to around 30 years.
Numerous traffic cadet departments have been established, particularly in Switzerland. Here, the Swiss Transport Cadets Association (SVKV) organizes training days and coordinates the operations of the transport cadets. It is important that traffic cadets are legally considered civil servants during their duty hours and use special hand signals to regulate traffic to ensure the safety of all road users.
Road safety for young people
The dangers that young people in particular are exposed to in traffic should not be underestimated. As can be seen from the results of the AUVA and the institute shows that driving safely, distractions, inappropriate speeds and a lack of driving experience often contribute to the high accident rate among new drivers in the 15 to 19 year old age group. Carelessness, showmanship and overconfidence are common companions of young drivers.
To counteract this, the “trafficsafety4you” program offers workshops for schools to make young people aware of the risks in road traffic. These modules, which are carried out by experienced traffic psychologists, not only help young people to better assess dangers, but also promote awareness of their own risks, especially in connection with alcohol and drugs.
The Lichtenfels traffic cadets not only make a valuable contribution to traffic safety, but also ensure that the next generation is prepared for the associated challenges. Your commitment is an important building block for safe roads in our region.
