EV Landshut conquers the top of the DEL2 with a strong 6:2 win!

EV Landshut has done it! After a convincing home win against the Lausitzer Füchse 6-2 on Sunday, the Landshut ice hockey players moved to the top of the DEL2 table. In a thrilling game with 3,916 enthusiastic spectators in the VR-Bank Landshut Arena, coach Axel Kammerer's team climbed from 3rd place to 1st place. Thanks to the simultaneous slip-up by Kassel and Rosenheim, the EVL is now back at the top.

What a comeback! After an early 0-2 deficit, which the Lausitzer Füchse scored with goals from Clarke Breitkreuz (8th minute) and Tim Heyter (11th minute), Landshut showed strong nerves. Tobias Lindberg brought the team back into the game with his goal after just 31 seconds, followed by Jesse Koskenkorva, who equalized in the first third. This meant the starting position was open again for the Landshut team and their fighting spirit was clearly evident.

Confident second half

In the second third, EVL finally took over the reins. David Stieler gave the team the lead with a superior goal (21st minute). Only a short time later, in a phenomenal phase, Simon Seidl and Stanislav Dietz increased the score to 5:2. These double blows gave the game a clear turn and the Lausitzers were unable to regain control. Simon Seidl crowned his team's performance with his second goal to make it 6-2.

How important this victory was for Landshut can also be seen when looking at the competition: Kassel only defeated the Eispiren Crimmitschau in a penalty shootout and Rosenheim had to admit defeat in Regensburg (0:3). The EVL not only consolidated its position, but also put the next games on its agenda.

Outlook for upcoming games

The Landshuter Eisbären's focus is now on the upcoming games: On Friday, at 8 p.m., the EVL will face the Eisbaeren Regensburg, while on Sunday at 4 p.m. it will be the EC Bad Nauheim's turn. So there won't be any boredom this season, because the decision about the top of the table could come as early as Tuesday evening when Krefeld plays against Weißwasser.

With a lot of momentum and an impressive comeback quality, EV Landshut is sending a strong signal to the entire league. Will this momentum be enough to stay at the top of the table? The next games will show it. Stay tuned and cheer on our EVL!
