Landsberg honors schools: over € 1,600 for German sports badges!

on July 21, 2025 the time had finally come: In the event hall above the Lechsporthalle Landsberg, the schools of the district were awarded for their remarkable achievements at the "German Sports Badge" in 2024. Deputy District Administrator Margit Horner-Spindler brought the congratulations on behalf of District Administrator Thomas Eichinger and thus made the prelude to a solemn event that not only praised sporting success, but also strengthened the community and team spirit among the students.

The honor had a special shine thanks to the generous support of the Sparkasse Landsberg-Dießen . A total of 1,600 euros were distributed, with 1,000 euros being distributed among the excellent schools. Domenic Riedelbauch, deputy member of the board of the Sparkasse, presented the cash checks to the proud students. In addition to the honors, performances, such as acrobatics and an entertaining football rap, provided an exuberant mood.

The best schools

The awards were not given without reason. In the first place, the elementary school Egling a.d. Couple claim that the most successfully completed the sports badges with 70 players with 101 students. The other excellent schools also showed impressive results:

• primary school Kaufering: 165 of 349 sports badges
• Realschule Kaufering: 218 of 503 sports badges
• primary school Erpfting: 48 of 194 sports badge
• Middle school Weil: 12 out of 411 sports badges

The "German Sports Badge" is awarded by German Olympic Sportbund (DOSB) and stands for above-average physical performance in the areas of endurance, strength and coordination. The requirements are clear: In order to obtain the badge, various disciplines must be successfully completed. And the best thing: If you want to participate, you can take the sports badge free of charge. The training takes place every Monday at 6:00 p.m. (when the weather is nice) in the Landsberg am Lech sports center.
