Extra class concert: Experience powerful sounds in Kaufering!

Kaufering, Deutschland - On June 29, 2025, the St. Leonhard Church in Kaufering turned into a place full of musical magic. As part of the international organ festival "Mighty Sounds" there was an unforgettable concert, in which harp and organ formed an impressive symbiosis. The two artists, Verena Meurers-Zeiser and Giulio Gelsomino, presented a varied program that included both traditional and contemporary sounds. The combination of filigree and powerful melodies captivated the audience

Verena Meurers-Zeiser, born in 1993, studied Harfe in Vienna and has made a name for herself as a soloist, music teacher and chamber musician. Multiple awards, she has conquered a special place in the music landscape. Born together with Giulio Gelsomino, born in 1990 and in Sardinia, which has two organ degrees with distinction, they offered a concert that impressively performed the versatile span of organ music. Gelsomino is not only a concert organist, but also a publicist and artistic director of festivals, which underlines his deep connection to the music culture.

artistic performance

The program of the concert was a real pleasure for all musical. It combined works by composers from different eras, including Johann Sebastian Bach, Dieterich Buxtehude and even Nino Rota. In addition to these classics, the concert also included pieces by less well-known but no less talented composers such as Ekaterina Adolfovna Walter-Küne and Marcel Grandjany. A highlight was the successful connection of the styles and epochs, which included both romantic and contemporary elements.

The organ festival "Mighty Sounds", which started at the beginning of the month, not only attracts music lovers, but also inspires with its unique concept. Under the artistic direction of Johannes Skudlik, formerly cantor at the parish church of the Assumption in Landsberg, the events in important churches between Ammer, Amper and Lech offer top -class musical encounters. The highlight was undoubtedly the performance of Claudio Monteverdis Marienvesper in the impressive Wieskirche, which is considered the milestone of spiritual music.

a festival for all

The best thing about it? Admission to the events is free and the donations flow directly to the respective parishes. This makes the festival a special experience that promotes the community and support of culture in the region. Visitors can look forward to further dates in July that have already been announced and will surely be just as stirring.

Another milestone in the Bavarian music culture that reaches the hearts of people! If you missed the chance, you should definitely make a note of the next events of the festival - it's worth it!
