Big star trip to Utting: Cycling for climate protection in the district!

Landsberg am Lech, Deutschland - On June 29, 2025, a very special event will take place in the Landsberg am Lech district: the big star trip to the opening event of the city cycling. This year under the motto "Climate protection on two wheels", the campaign is held between June 29 and July 19, 2025 and is intended to motivate people to cover CO2-neutral paths by bike. No matter whether to work, to school or for a week shop - every kilometer counts.

The star trip has a clear goal: the Summer Market in Utting. There, the participants can expect a varied program with culinary stands and live music. The Landsamt Landsberg will be represented at a stand, together with the climate protection management department as well as the coordination agencies for inclusion and local development policy. Not only is cycling promoted, but also social commitment: For every ripped kilometer, the logistics center Edeka in Landsberg donates a cent to the "Craft with Heart" initiative, with the ambitious donation goal of 5,000 euros.

rewards for the best

There will also be prices for the most hardworking cyclists, sponsored by local companies. So if you enjoy cycling, you should not miss the campaign and find out on the website www.stadtradeln.de/landkreis-landsberg to find out more about registration options and planned trips.

The city cycling campaign has been around since 2008 and has set itself the goal of inspiring citizens and local politicians for cycling. This initiative can be used as a communication and planning instrument that supports the promotion of climate-friendly mobility and the direct connection to local parliaments. In recent years, city bikes have already been recognized with renowned awards, such as the "Sustainable Energy Europe Award" in 2011 and the "National Energy Globe Award Germany" 2015. Actors in the mobility area are working on improving the cycling infrastructure and implementing the vision "Bicycleland Germany 2030", which recently in a study by the Fraunhofer Institute for System and innovation research (ISI) was presented.

Potential of cycling

The study by the Fraunhofer Institute shows how important a well-developed cycling infrastructure is. According to this, Germany could triple the cycling share of up to 30 kilometers in length by 2035 - and thus also reduce traffic emissions in the near area by up to 34 percent. Every year it would be even 19 million tons of CO2 equivalents that could be saved by a sustainable bicycle infrastructure. This requires expanded bike paths, good connections to the bus and train as well as a well thought -out planning of the municipalities to create attractive conditions for cyclists.

The upcoming star trip to the Summer Market in Utting is not only a festival for the senses, but also an important step towards environmentally friendly mobility and more conscious use of our resources. Let's tackle it and cycle together for a better climate!
