Drunken by Kleintettau: 53-year-old rams two cars!

In the small community of Kleintettau, located in the Kronach district, an alarming incident occurred on Tuesday evening, June 11th, 2025. A 53-year-old man who was drunk behind the wheel of a Suzuki rammed two parked vehicles: a BMW and an Audi A6. This resulted in significant material damage estimated at 15,000 to 20,000 euros. The Audi A6 in particular was badly damaged and is no longer drivable, while the rear of the BMW is affected. Such incidents highlight the issue of drunk driving, which is not only dangerous but can also have serious legal consequences.

As from the report of the North Bavarian Post As can be seen, the police found an alarming level of 2.06 per mille in a breath alcohol test. This means that the driver was not only completely unfit to drive, but also faces criminal consequences. In Germany, the limit for absolute inability to drive is 1.1 per mille, and above 1.6 per mille, an additional medical-psychological examination (MPU) is required. In the case of the 53-year-old, he could not only have his blood drawn, but also have his driving license temporarily revoked.

Drunk driving – Dangerous consequences

The alcohol limits in Germany are clearly regulated. After ADAC Information applies to new drivers under the age of 21 and to passengers in their probationary period there is even an absolute alcohol ban of 0.0 per mille. With a breath alcohol value of 0.3 per mille, the relative inability to drive is determined, and from 0.5 to 1.09 per mille there is a risk of fines and points in Flensburg. The 2.06 per mille of the man in Kleintettau could have very special effects.

Another aspect that is often forgotten: In the event of accidents under the influence of alcohol, the insurance company can pay, but is authorized to demand recourse from the policyholder up to 5,000 euros. In some cases even partial or fully comprehensive insurance is questioned.

While the 53-year-old now faces investigations for endangering road traffic, this incident once again shows how important it is to use alcohol responsibly. Drunk driving not only endangers yourself, but also all other road users.

In summary, this incident in Kleintettau is a serious example of how quickly a seemingly harmless consumption of alcohol can turn into a dangerous situation. It remains to be seen what consequences the affected driver will face, and the community can only hope that such incidents are avoided in the future.
