Kitzingen invites you: Discover towers in art and photography!
Art and history merge in Kitzingen: From November 15th to 23rd, the town hall will open its doors to the exhibition “Tower & Turrets – Kitzinger Views” by Ralf and Dominic Weinkirn. This event not only promises a look at the city's impressive towers, but also offers a very special kind of artistic dialogue between father and son.
Ralf Weinkirn has been dedicated to depicting Kitzinger towers in graphite and watercolor for over a decade. His collection shows a variety of bay window and stair towers as well as fragments of the former city walls. These works rested in his studio for a while and are now being presented to the public. In contrast, Dominic Weinkirn, who is also an artist, captured the photographs of the same towers. His goal is to capture the architectural beauties with his camera and thus shed a modern light on the historical structures.
A hybrid project
What is particularly exciting is that the two artists created their works independently of each other, without influencing each other. Ralf's watercolors and Dominic's photographs meet in a unique, hybrid presentation. This creative exploration lets visitors walk through Kitzingen in a way that is both nostalgic and modern.
The exhibition is structured so that the photographs and watercolors are not only presented next to each other, but are also shown on a city map in the town hall. This gives guests the opportunity to experience the works in the context of their location in the city. It is an invitation to explore the city through the eyes of the two artists.
Practical information
The town hall is open daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and entry is free, making the exhibition a great destination for a visit to Kitzingen. Regardless of whether you are an art lover or a curious visitor, everyone is warmly invited to immerse themselves in this exciting artistic representation and get to know a piece of Kitzingen for yourself.
As the Main post reports, this is not just an exhibition, but an interactive experience that presents the city's past and present in a new light. Get the city map and discover the individual works during your visit! The Weinkirns' event could hardly be more fitting to celebrate local history and passion for art at the same time.
In summary, Ralf and Dominic Weinkirn's exhibition is an excellent opportunity to appreciate Kitzingen's architectural treasures. Visit the town hall and be inspired by the combination of painting and photography that come together in this unique exhibition.
