Bavaria is facing a hot weekend: the German Weather Service (DWD) is expecting temperatures of up to 32 degrees Celsius. The eastern regions in particular have to prepare for the highest values. But the summer humidity also brings thick storm clouds. During the day there will be showers and even strong thunderstorms from the west, which could quickly turn the heat into a danger. The South German reports that the risk of severe weather is particularly high, with heavy rain of up to 25 liters per square meter per hour.
A look at the wind conditions shows that gusts of wind with speeds of up to 85 kilometers per hour are also possible. In addition, significant heavy rain of up to 40 liters per square meter per hour and heavy gusts of up to 100 kilometers per hour are to be expected locally. On top of that, there could also be hail. On Monday night the situation becomes more serious: heavy rain lasting several hours with up to 60 liters per square meter is expected in eastern Bavaria and the Alps.
