Series of burglaries shakes Kaufbeuren: Police are looking for witnesses!

In recent weeks, a worrying series of burglaries has shaken the Kaufbeuren region and the Ostallgäu region. Between May 28th and June 5th, a total of five break-ins were recorded in Kaufbeuren, Mauerstetten, Westendorf and Neugablonz, including in commercial office buildings and a hypermarket. The perpetrators acted extremely ruthlessly and brutally, using leverage and stabbing tools to break open offices and cupboards. Cash and cigarettes were stolen, while two vehicles parked at construction sites in Neugablonz were the target of the attackers, from which high-quality construction machinery and tools were stolen. The resulting loot and property damage amounts to a high five-figure amount. The police suspect that serial criminals are at work here and are asking the public for relevant information in order to catch these criminals. This reports Mercury.

Another break-in brings the police authorities to the scene, who see a connection with an arrest in June of the previous year. On the night of June 24th to 25th, 2023, two burglars were caught in Irsee. A 36-year-old suspect has been the focus of a special investigative group since February 2023. This suspect is linked to a total of 14 break-ins into residential buildings and commercial properties in Unterallgäu, Ostallgäu and Kaufbeuren. The damage to the loot is estimated at over 100,000 euros, while the property damage is around 30,000 euros. Here, too, it turned out that the perpetrators' approach was very aggressive, which is particularly alarming for the police. Both suspects are currently in custody, as reported on the website Bavarian police is reported.
