Stadttheater Ingolstadt: Successful premiere and exciting season 2025!
The Ingolstadt City Theater has opened a new chapter with the 2025/2026 season. Director Oliver Brunner and his team have successfully completed their first season, which received consistently positive reviews and a good reception in the city. There's something going on when it comes to cultural development here - the new season also promises exciting content!
A highlight of the upcoming second season are the 18 premieres, six of which are specifically intended for children's and youth theater. The program will be further strengthened through targeted investments in this area. The first premiere of the new season has already been confirmed: On October 10th, a modern premiere of “Nibelungen” by Marcel Luxinger and Ivana Sokola will be brought to the stage, which could be a real crowd puller.
A varied program
But that's not all! The premiere of “Is the mighty silence always drawing me”, which deals with the important personality Charlotte von Kirschbaum, is also planned. In addition, adaptations of great novels such as “Madame Bovary” and “The Count of Monte Cristo” as well as productions of modern classics such as “In the Thicket of Cities” and “Kasimir and Karoline” are in the pipeline. The planned production of “The Magic Flute” in a pop revue theater version is particularly interesting. This makes the city theater a real highlight for all theater lovers, whether young or old.
The positive atmosphere in the house contributes significantly to a lively exchange between the artists and the audience and shows that there is a good knack for innovative and entertaining programs here. This development is no coincidence, as the city council also decided in July to initiate further renovation measures for the listed Hämer building, which has been used intensively for almost 56 years and has therefore left its mark on the building.
Insight into history
On Sunday, September 11th, the doors of the city theater will be opened for the “Open Monument Day”. Under the motto "KulturSpur. A case for monument protection", Ingolstädter Kommunalimmobilien GmbH & Co.KG (INKoBau) invites you to guided tours that offer exciting insights into areas of the theater that are otherwise inaccessible. In order to take part in the tours, you must register in advance. It should be noted that the tours are not barrier-free and there are many stairs to climb.
Registration can be done by phone at 0841 305-46790 or by email inkobau@ingolstadt.de. The tours start at 10 a.m. and are designed for a limited number of participants per group. So if you're interested, hurry up!
With its new season and extensive program, the Ingolstadt City Theater has secured a high place in the city's cultural life. How this all develops and what the new season will bring remains to be seen with excitement.
