July 16, 2025 brings a breath of fresh air to the Bavarian football landscape. FC Ingolstadt has strengthened with Yann Sturm from SC Freiburg. The 20-year-old is loaned for one year and is said to revitalize the offensive as a left wing. Last season Sturm was a real top performer in the U23 of SC Freiburg and was able to record impressive 23 scorer points in 30 games. This is a promising new addition to the FCI, which ended up in tenth in the last season in the 3rd league and with 72 goals made the best attack in the league. Nevertheless, the Ingolstadt residents have to compensate for the departures of their three best scorers, Sebastian Grönning, Deniz Zeitler and Pascal Testroet. Sports director Ivica Grlic is sure that Sturms will make technical skills and its final strength. Transfer market reports that Sturm could soon cause a sensation in the stadium.
But also the 1. FC Saarbrücken has not remained idle. The Ludwigspark kickers have signed Dominic Baumann, who has a wealth of experience at the age of 30. Baumann has scored an impressive 255 games in the 3rd league and scored 70 goals. The striker was most recently clubless and previously played for SV Sandhausen, where he and his team relegated to the regional league in the past season. Baumann, however, had to struggle with injuries and descents in recent years, as he had to compete from the 3rd division three times in a row with various clubs. Nevertheless, Saarbrücken's sports director Jürgen Luginger sees great potential in Baumann. His experience, game intelligence and the ability to score the necessary gates at crucial moments make him welcome reinforcement for the Saarlanders. Zeit reports that, despite his setbacks, Baumann is determined to bend back into the successful trail in Saarbrücken.

These transfers could be decisive for both clubs. With Yann Sturm, FC Ingolstadt has a young and hungry player who is full of motivation to prove himself in the 3rd league. Sturm brings fresh swing onto the offensive, which has to be re -shaped after the scores of the strikers.
On the other hand, the Saarlanders with Dominic Baumann have signed a striker who is well known in the league and can also show its class in pressure situations. Baumann's experience could prove to be a key in the fight for relegation or even an upper place in the table.
