MSV Duisburg signs striker Tim Heike – a new bearer of hope!

An exciting change in the third division: MSV Duisburg has signed striker Tim Heike from FC Ingolstadt. The 25-year-old, who previously helped Energie Cottbus get promoted to the 3rd league with 21 goals in 33 games, is supposed to revive the Zebras' offensive. liga3-online.de reports that Heike's transfer fee is 275,000 euros as his contract with FC Ingolstadt runs until 2026.

However, his performances for Ingolstadt were not consistently convincing last season. Tim Heike only scored three goals in 26 games and was only in the starting line-up in nine games. Nevertheless, MSV sports director Chris Schmoldt is optimistic and sees Heike as the ambitious striker the team needs for a successful season. Transfer market emphasizes that Heike was able to show a noticeable upward trend in the Regionalliga Nordost.

A positive new beginning

Heike herself believes in a positive new beginning in Duisburg. In his conversations with those responsible at MSV, he was enthusiastic about the tradition and ambitions of the club. “I would like to thank Ingolstadt for the instructive season in which I was able to mature as a person and as a footballer,” he said. Coach Dietmar Hirsch is pleased with the commitment and skills that Heike can bring to the team.

Heike is already the fifth external newcomer to join MSV Duisburg this summer break. As of now, there were already 25 players at the start of training, only substitute keeper Julius Paris had to miss out due to a gastrointestinal illness. The zebras plan to enter the training period without pressure, with the aim of continuously developing themselves further. Kicker emphasizes that further departures, especially of players like Gerrit Wegkamp and Moritz Montag, cannot be ruled out.

Preparation for the new season

MSV Duisburg's first test match will take place next Saturday against the district league team Duisburger SV 1900. A training camp is also planned in the Netherlands, where the team wants to set the course for a successful third division season. Preparations are already in full swing and MSV Duisburg appears to be well prepared for the challenges ahead in the new season. With Tim Heike in the ranks, the offensive could cause a sensation.

The Zebras are ready to challenge the competition in the third division and exploit the potential of the new squad.
