Emma Fasel once again district student representative: A voice for Haßberge!
In an exciting and committed race for student representation, Emma Fasel, the 15-year-old student at the Albrecht Dürer Middle School in Haßfurt, was once again elected district student representative in the Haßberge district. With her fresh enthusiasm, she will represent the Haßberge middle school students at the district assembly in Würzburg on October 29th. Her deputy, Lea Auer from the Zeil/Sand middle school, is at her side. Emma brings fresh ideas and the will to take the interests of her classmates into account, true to the motto: “Together we are strong” - an attitude that is of great importance in the area of student government.
The election of Emma Fasel is not only a sign of trust within the student body, but also proof that commitment and participation are very important in the Haßberge district. But there are other important issues that concern the region's young residents.
Drug prevention in focus
One of the current debates is triggered by the partial legalization of cannabis in Germany and is leading to a new way of dealing with drugs. In order to prevent this, the drug prevention project “Flashback” has been carried out in the Haßberge district since 2022. These initiatives are particularly important in raising students' awareness of responsible use of drugs.
In the current school year, the 8th grades of the middle schools in Knetzgau, Haßfurt, Maroldsweisach and Ebern are taking part in the project, which is coordinated by the Haßberge State School Office. The project is supported by a strong network of youth social work (JaS), the youth welfare office, the youth addiction counseling center and the police in Ebern and Haßfurt. An interactive course with four stations is intended to help students in small groups to deal with the topics of addiction and prevention.
The main focuses of the project
The individual stations cover various important aspects:
- Polizei: Gesetzliche Konsequenzen und tatsächliche Fälle von Drogenmissbrauch.
- Jugendsuchtberatungsstelle: Die Entstehung und der Verlauf von Suchtverhalten.
- Jugendamt: Aufklärung über verschiedene Abhängigkeiten, darunter Alkohol, Nikotin, Social Media und Gaming.
- Jugendsozialarbeit (JaS): Förderung des Selbstbewusstseins und Reflexion eigener Entscheidungen.
The students' feedback shows a high level of openness and interest in the topics, which encourages the organizations' specialists. They emphasize the effectiveness of the project, particularly in terms of increasing self-confidence and reflective decision-making. It's clear: Prevention work in schools will be continued in the coming school year in order to continue to provide positive impulses and support young people on their journey.
In the Haßberge district, the issues of student representation and drug prevention go hand in hand. With committed representatives like Emma Fasel and through effective projects like “Flashback”, it is clear that young people are ready to actively shape things and take responsibility. As the preparation for the district assembly in Würzburg approaches, it remains interesting to see what other ideas and concerns will be brought from the halls of the middle schools to the public.
