Tree felling work causes the district road HAS 46 to be completely closed!
There is great anticipation of the upcoming changes in the region! From February 2nd, the district road HAS 46 between Goßmannsdorf and the B 303 will be completely closed for a short time. The reason for this measure is tree felling work, which is necessary to create space for the planned expansion work. The campaign is expected to last until February 14th, but can be completed early if the weather gods are kind and everything goes according to plan. A corresponding detour sign will be put up so that drivers can avoid the B 303 and still reach their destination safely, as Hassberge.de reports.
This tree felling work is part of a bigger plan: The expansion of the district road includes the construction of a new footpath and cycle path that will connect the communities of Burgpreppach and Ibind with Hofheim in Lower Franconia. The planned cycle path will not only increase safety for cyclists, but also enable connection to the existing cycle path network in the Hassberge district. An important step towards sustainable mobility, right?
Sustainable expansion in two construction phases
The total distance of the new cycle path is an impressive 3.1 kilometers and will connect the communities more closely. The financing of this project is largely covered by the federal government, which shows that a good hand was shown in the project planning. With a total cost of around 5.6 million euros, it is pleasing that the first construction phase is now being started, after the second was completed in 2022. The planning is carried out using the modern method “Building Information Modeling” (BIM), which guarantees efficient planning and execution, according to Stbasw.bayern.de.
The first drafts for the pedestrian and cycle path are expected to be completed in the first half of 2025. This means that residents and cyclists will soon benefit from significantly improved infrastructure. So there are exciting times just around the corner!
Let's stay tuned to see how the work develops and whether spring will bring about the release of the new paths. Then we can not only cycle safely but also comfortably from A to B without having to use the roads. The anticipation of the new possibilities is definitely there!
