Freising is calling: Take part in the Clean Landscape on November 8th!
An important campaign is scheduled for the Freising city area in the coming weeks: On Saturday, November 8th, the city is calling for the “Clean Landscape” autumn campaign. The aim of this event is to clear the city's green areas of rubbish and thus contribute to the beautification of the surrounding area. The city administration invites all Freising residents to take part, regardless of whether they are private individuals, members of a school, company or organization. The call to lend a hand together comes at just the right time to increase awareness of environmental and climate protection. The Freisinger Rathaus emphasizes the importance of advance registration, which must be done by November 3rd.
The meeting point for the helpers is at 10 a.m. at the parking lot of the Savoyer Au play and sports park. During the welcome, environmental officer Manfred Drobny and organizer Beate Metz will divide the collection areas. In order to be best prepared for the event, participants should bring sturdy shoes, warm, weatherproof clothing and work gloves. Wearing safety vests is also recommended. The communal experience is rounded off with a warm lunch, which is offered in the sports restaurant “Le Ginestre”. A surprise waiting for the helpers in the Savoyard Au on the day of the action also provides a special incentive.
Together for a clean landscape
The last “Clean Landscape” campaign in Freising last year saw an impressive turnout with more than 160 participants. Many volunteers, including families, children and members of various organizations, were highly motivated to collect garbage. This central “Ramadama” campaign, organized by Manfred Drobny and Beate Metz, was supported by the commitment of Peter Lenz, who took care of a tasty lunch. A warm welcome with warm meatloaf, pretzels, sweet Freisinger bears and fresh fruit ensured that the helpers got to work well fortified. Many of them were happy to be able to get active again after the pandemic-related break.
The participants came from, among others, the Freising section of the German Alpine Club, NaturFreunden Freising e.V., the Evangelical Lutheran Church Community and Texas Instruments Freising. The Freising Volunteer Fire Department was also prominently represented with its youth team, which consisted of 17 members and two vehicles. Together, the helpers filled three large containers with garbage, including old mattresses, bicycles and car tires. This remarkable achievement underlines the community spirit of the people of Freising and their commitment to a clean environment. Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher was grateful for the participants' commitment and emphasized the importance of community spirit in the city.
More activities in the area
Efforts to create a cleaner environment are not just limited to Freising. “Ramadama” events in Attaching and Tüntenhausen are also on the program on November 11, 2023. As early as spring 2023, the volunteer fire department in Pulling collected garbage with 60 helpers, thus setting another example for active environmental protection in the region.
