VR Bank Bamberg-Forchheim awards the Nature Conservation Prize: Commitment to Nature!

On Tuesday, the VR Bank Bamberg-Forchheim Nature Conservation Prize was awarded for the 29th time at the VR Bank branch in Forchheim. With a total prize money of 5,000 euros, which was awarded this year under the motto "To good neighbors! The green garden border", special attention was paid to the ecological diversity of hedges. The prizes were presented to numerous citizens, associations and initiatives from the region who take exemplary care of nature conservation. A total of 26 hobby gardeners and two public institutions were pleased to receive awards.

Alexander Brehm, Deputy CEO of VR Bank, emphasized the importance of commitment to nature in his speech. “The projects impress with their biodiversity, ecological design and integration into the landscape,” he explained.
Particularly worth mentioning are the two special prizes worth 1,000 euros each, which were awarded to sustainable projects from the crowdfunding initiative. The winners of the special sustainability category are the nature trail “Ritterweg” Hiltpoltstein and the association Freund instead of Fremd e. V. Bamberg.

Prize winners and projects

The four other winners in the special category for public institutions, the Eggolsheim fruit and horticultural association and the Kurgarten Egloffstein initiative, together demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental education and the maintenance of public green spaces. These initiatives make a valuable contribution to biodiversity and habitat creation in the region.

The jury was enthusiastic about the diversity of the projects submitted. Those based on the 17 global sustainability goals (SDGs) were particularly well received. It becomes clear here that environmental protection and social responsibility go hand in hand. The activities in the gardens and in public spaces are a benefit for the entire community.

Current trends in skin care

As the Nature Conservation Prize shows, there is a growing awareness of sustainable practices, which is also reflected in skin care. The trend towards using natural ingredients and environmentally friendly packaging is by no means new, but it is becoming increasingly important. Studies show that the cosmetics industry accounts for a significant proportion of plastic waste. More and more people are interested in sustainable products that are good for both their skin and the environment.
DIY face masks offer an excellent opportunity to pamper yourself in a caring and environmentally conscious way. A total of around 50 recipes are waiting to be discovered - including masks for every skin type that can be easily made with natural ingredients such as yogurt, avocado or aloe vera.

Using ingredients like neem, known for its antibacterial effects, and shea butter, which intensively nourishes dry skin, makes all the difference. This creates skin care products that are not only effective, but also sustainable and completely in keeping with the environmental awareness component of today.

In conclusion, people's commitment to nature conservation and the growing demand for sustainable products are the issues of our time. While local initiatives for nature promote positive development in the region, sustainable skin care practices enable mindful care of our largest organ - the skin.
