Unfortunately, the second appointment was not quite as smooth - some nests were vacant or simply unreachable. A total of ten young storks were sailed on that day.

But what is actually behind this berrying campaign? The main goals are identification and the scientific examination of behavior, the approaches and the survival rates of these animals. Interestingly, the shipment in Germany is under the supervision of bird keeper, whereby the Radolfzell bird station is responsible for Bavaria. Alex Brehm works closely with the bird keeper and continues all relevant data of the ringed birds.

A look outside the box

A slightly different but traditional aspect of stork research can be found in the history of the arrow stork, a well -known chapter under stork lovers.
