A look into the future
The importance of city twinning is clearly recognizable in a current book on the city twinning in Europe in the 20th century, which analyzes the history and career of these relationships. After 1945, city partnerships have made an important contribution to the development of a holistic Europe of the citizens and are still an important link between cultures. Despite a distance of over 700 kilometers, the connection between Forchheim and Le Perreux remains tight.
"This partnership is a valuable asset," says Kirschstein, who wished the participants all the best for the future at the end of the visit. The farewell was not easy for everyone, which underlines the strength of the connections between the two cities. Such encounters not only create memories, but also a lived friendship that thrives across national borders.
