Erding celebrates: 800 years of history and 50 years of club life!
A happy year 2025 for the Erding Historical Association: The association looks back on an exciting time and has launched many projects. However, the future promises even greater things! There are two important anniversaries coming up in 2028: the 50th anniversary of the club and the city anniversary “800 Years of Erding”. The association will certainly once again show its full commitment to make these celebrations appropriate, as merkur.de reports.
The Erding Historical Association e.V. was founded in 1978 and has since established itself as a platform for culturally conscious citizens. The association regularly organizes lectures, excursions and art events, which help people become better acquainted with the cultural heritage of their homeland. The highlights include, for example, trips to special historical sites in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France, which definitely have to be on the agenda - discovering them is really fun! Those interested can find details about the offers on the association website.
Events and finances
The year 2025 was also marked by numerous events. A total of 27 free lecture evenings were held, although the bus trips to the cultural events were almost fully booked. However, a look at the finances shows that the club's cash balance has fallen from 18,500 euros to just under 14,500 euros. However, there will be no increase in bus prices or the membership fee of 11 euros. This means the association remains attractive and accessible to all citizens interested in culture.
An important change is also coming: the association's annual magazine will only be published online in the future. In this way, a broader readership is reached and at the same time the requirements of the digital age are taken into account.
Surprises and awards
The committed club management around Heike Kronseder was honored with a bouquet of flowers by Christian Numberger. Your work contributes significantly to the active and lively community in the club. The awarding of the research prize to Melanie Falzetta was particularly pleasing. This prize, which has been awarded to new publications of local history since 1999, aims to get young people excited about the history of their homeland. “We want to awaken the spirit of research,” is emphasized in the club documents.
Another important topic is the planned renovation of the Heilig Blut pilgrimage church, which is scheduled to begin in 2026. The long history of this church dates back to a miracle of the Host in 1480. Michael Lang has prepared valuable information about this historic building for members in an extensive 20-page publication, which is available in an edition of 100 copies.
The association's tradition runs deep, and the collaboration with the Erding Archaeological Association, the Farmhouse Museum and the Erding Museum is continually being deepened. This means that the historical association remains a central player in the preservation of culture and local history in the Erding district, as can be found on the Erding district website.
In summary, we can say: The Erding Historical Association has also achieved a lot in 2025 and is looking forward to the coming years. The support of the older generation and the enthusiasm for cultural heritage are clearly noticeable - there is really something going on here in Erding!
