Hidden plant symbolism: ancient wisdom for the young generation!

What did the old know and why do young people care today? This question is the focus of an exciting event organized by... Catholic German Women's Association (KDFB) organized. On Thursday, June 26th, a lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the Lippertshofen village meeting place in the municipality of Gaimersheim, which will deal with people's relationship with plants around the house and yard.

Speaker Thomas Janscheck, an experienced landscape gardener and author from Wolnzach, will explain the traditional meaning of plants. Local herbs and flowers such as elderberry, hazel and walnut leaf, which are considered both useful and symbolically interesting, will play a role. These plants are part of a centuries-old symbolism that has developed from a deeply rooted perception of nature.

Plants and their meanings

The symbolism of plants is a fascinating topic and connects numerous aspects of life. How Gaissmayer explained, plant symbolism refers not only to the physical properties of the plants, but also to their spiritualized meaning. For example, the elder is seen as a “guardian on the threshold of death and new growth,” while in flower language it means “I am not as I appear to you!” stands. On Hauenstein Rafz you can find interesting details about plants that symbolize both happiness and sadness. Columbine and strawberries represent humility and modesty, while the rose is often associated with love and passion.

Various plants such as the linden tree, oak and clover, which represent loyalty and honor, are also discussed. These symbolic meanings are not only culturally important, but they can also influence our choice of plants for gardens and occasions.
