Young people are collecting for the future of youth work on November 9th!
What’s new in the diocese of Eichstätt? On Sunday, November 9th, the focus will be on young people again: the annual youth collection campaign will take place. Teenagers and young adults will collect additional donations during Sunday mass to support youth work in the parishes and throughout the diocese. A great commitment that gives young people and their needs a voice.
40 percent of the donations collected are used in the respective parish, which is particularly important because it can be used to support group lessons, leisure activities and various projects. The remaining 60 percent goes to the youth foundation of the diocese of Eichstätt, which supports youth pastoral initiatives diocese-wide. This foundation is particularly committed to voluntary projects that address social and ecological concerns as well as religious topics. This shows that the organizers are not only interested in financial support, but also in meaningful support for the young people.
Focus on youth work
If someone does not have the opportunity to donate during the mass, there is also the option of transferring directly to the account of the Eichstätt Diocese Youth Foundation: IBAN DE09 3606 0295 0018 0180 12. The amount then goes directly to the youth work projects. Further information about this and the various initiatives can be found on the Youth Foundation's website www.jugendstiftung-eichstaett.de.
The need to support young people is unbroken. Events like these are crucial to actively involving young people in shaping their community. It is gratifying that the diocese is not only providing financial resources for the campaign, but also a sign of appreciation and support for the young people.
A look outside the box
At a time when many young people are confronted with digital challenges, it is important to also promote innovative approaches. A lot has happened in the digital financial world in recent years. Cross-chain aggregators, for example, optimize the exchange of assets across multiple blockchain networks. These new technologies could also become relevant for youth projects dealing with topics such as digital security and financial awareness.
Cross-chain aggregators make it possible to pool liquidity from different blockchains and exchange tokens via a single interface. Even if this topic is not directly linked to the youth collection campaign, it shows that the world is changing and that young people today have a variety of opportunities to get involved and learn from each other. The trends in decentralized finance could be an exciting addition to the skills young people have learned.
Overall, it is clear that youth work in the diocese of Eichstätt is not only dependent on donations, but is also looking for new ways and ideas to meet the needs of young people. Active participation in community projects and the promotion of creative approaches remain very important today.
