A historical hazelnus plantation, created during the First World War of French prisoners of war, is still part of the region.

The plantation was forgotten after the Second World War, but the landscape maintenance association restored it again in 2018. The last section of the route runs through a light forest and again offers views of the old town Eichstätter before going down into the city via the "new path".
